Mobizoft AB has confirmed that the Australian Patent Office approved its patent application for a terminal independent addressing system. The application covers the unique Mobizoft C4M handling of using one URL independent of used internet enabled device to access a web page.

“We are delighted to finally have our first application approved. We look forward to approvals in more countries around the world together with our other applications in the mobile multimedia area” said Mr. Jorma Mobrin, CEO.

The complete application name is “A terminal independent addressing system for access to a web page via a public mobile network” (Australian patent no. 2006217125).

The mobile devices continues to improve in technology and usability, thereby challenging the content adaptation technology to distribute video to an even broader spectrum of devices. New devices are now entering the market with even larger screens and higher resolution. Examples are the HTC Desire, Sony Ericsson Aino and Google’s Nexus One, which all have high screen resolutions, and are designed for wide screen presentation of multimedia. Mobizoft C4M reduces the complexity to encode and distribute multimedia to thousands of different mobile combinations from one single URL or service request. The URL works for PC and mobile browsers and in Iphone/Android applications.

Mobizoft today releases a new version of Mobizoft C4M where we amongst some other improvements automatically based on the terminal’s aspect ratio (4:3 / 16:9) ensures that the end user receives an even more optimized experience.

The flexibility of the Mobizoft C4M product also enables customer specific configurations for optimized transcoding of the uploaded multimedia to more varieties adapted to specific terminals, screens and network.
